NATURE OF THE TECHNOLOGY

This practice utilizes Google Vertex AI to assist in transcribing sessions and drafting clinical reports. The AI tool acts as a "digital scribe." It processes the audio or text from our clinical encounter to generate a structured draft for the physician's review. This technology does not make diagnoses or independent clinical decisions.

Privacy & Data Sovereignty Safeguards

• Data Residency: All AI processing is restricted exclusively to the northamerica-northeast1 (Montreal, Canada) server region. No clinical data leaves Canada for AI processing.
• Zero-Retention (Per-Prompt): We utilize a "per-prompt" configuration. This means the AI has no memory of the session once the task is complete. No data is stored by the AI service provider, and your information is never used to train or improve AI models.
• Encryption: All data transmitted to and from the AI service is encrypted to professional medical standards.

PHYSICIAN ACCOUNTABILITY

In accordance with CMPA guidelines, Dr. Black retains full medico-legal responsibility for your medical record. Every AI-generated draft is meticulously reviewed, edited, and verified by the physician for accuracy before being finalized in your permanent Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

CONSENT AND WITHDRAWAL

Use of this technology is entirely voluntary. You may request that AI-assisted tools not be used during your session at any time. This will not impact your access to care or the quality of treatment you receive.
